Feeling confident in her decision, Natacha chose Dr. Ortiz as her surgeon.
On September 4th, 2023, Natacha had a vertical sleeve surgery with Dr. Ortiz. She advises anyone considering weight loss surgery to prepare themselves mentally and physically beforehand, seeking counseling and joining support groups. Natacha emphasizes the importance of being fully prepared to increase the chances of success. Her experience in Mexico with EOC was nothing short of amazing. Feeling safe and supported by both the staff and fellow patients, Natacha even celebrated her birthday at a spa.
Three months after the surgery, Natacha’s life has already transformed significantly. She feels better, more confident, and enjoys wearing clothes that complement her body instead of hiding it. Today, she reached a milestone by weighing under 200 pounds for the first time since she was 18 years old. Natacha is determined to continue her progress and embrace her newfound freedom and happiness.
Hi, my name is Natacha Bailey, I’m 42 years old and I’m from New Brunswick, Canada. So I have been battling my weight since I was a teenager, especially the last 10 years. I have done many different diets. At one point, I was going to the gym six days a week, sometimes twice a day and limiting myself to 1200 calories and it was incredibly difficult. It was quite restrictive and I couldn’t maintain it ever. Every single time, the weight always came back on. Now I’m 42, my body hurts, did hurt and I had a grandchild that I just pictured not being able to really enjoy her Nana. I knew that I had to do something more permanent. I knew I had to have surgery. So I started to see videos on TikTok about Kayla and surgery options in Mexico and Elias Ortiz & Company clinic. I then remembered that a friend of mine had had surgery in Mexico, someone I hadn’t talked to in a really long time, but I reached out to her and started to ask questions and was happy to hear that she had also had Dr. Ortiz as her surgeon. And she shared with me that a few other people I knew had also had surgery with Dr. Ortiz. So that made me very comfortable and confident in a decision to go to EOC to have Dr. Ortiz as my surgeon. And I’m really happy that I chose him. So on September the 4th of 2023, it was finally my turn for surgery. I had a vertical sleeve with Dr. Ortiz. So my one piece of advice for somebody who was considering weight loss surgery besides just do it, would be to take the steps to make sure that you’re ready beforehand, both mentally and physically. I saw a counselor, I joined an overeater support group, and I began to change some habits that I knew would have to change after my surgery. I think that being the most prepared, both physically and mentally, made my surgery process much easier and gave me the best step for success. My experience in Mexico was amazing. I went on my own. I felt safe. I felt supported by not just those that were having surgery within my group, but the staff from the clinic to the drivers. I went to the spa for my birthday because my birthday happened while I was in Mexico. My experience was absolutely amazing. I actually had no idea it could be as good as it was. At this point, it’s been three months since my surgery. My life has already changed so wildly. I feel better. I’m more confident. I am liking how I look in clothes. Someone had said I’m no longer picking out the shade of black to cover myself, and I’m no longer doing that. I want to wear clothes that fit me, clothes that compliment me. I’m finding that I have more energy. I’m more active. I am finally going to have the life that being overweight and being or having a lack of confidence kept me from having. I managed to lose 42 pounds on my own before my surgery date. Since then, I have lost 55 pounds. Today was actually my wonderland event where I found myself to be under 200 pounds. I weigh 199 pounds, still going, and it’s the first time I’ve been under 200 pounds since I was 18 years old.
