Hi, my name is Natasha. I am from Ontario, Canada, and I am 29 years old. So I actually chose to have surgery at EOC rather than for free in Canada because I didn’t have to jump through hoops. I was able to book my surgery right away. I didn’t have to wait. I believe it’s like a two-year wait in Canada right now, and honestly, I am so glad I did. I was researching bariatric surgery for over two years. I wasn’t sure if that’s what I wanted to do, and I stumbled upon a TikTok, and it was Kayla’s TikTok actually, and I just kept researching all the good things with EOC, and that’s how I found it. I had the gastric sleeve on September 26th of 2023 with Dr. Ortiz. If I were to have to give somebody advice, I would say to make sure that you’re walking right after surgery. It really helps with the gas pain. I questioned it, and I didn’t think it would work, and honestly, that’s the only thing that worked was walking to get rid of the gas pain, and I would say be patient with yourself. You didn’t gain the weight overnight. You’re not going to lose it overnight. It happens fast, but be patient with yourself, and be proud of yourself. I had a wonderful experience in general. The broth across the street was amazing. The drivers were amazing. It was all well organized. They picked me up when they said they were going to. The border crossing was good. The nurses were great. Dr. Ortiz himself was really good, and I just everything, like the hospital, the hotel room, the area. I had a really good experience. Weight loss surgery changed my life in so many different ways. One being the confidence that I have now. My health has improved. I had such high blood pressure, and that’s gone. I have PCOS, and I struggle with infertility. I never got my periods before, and I have never once in my life ovulated on my own without the help of a fertility doctor, and I am three months out of surgery, and for the first time, I have ovulated by myself. I get my periods. They’re back on track. I don’t get out of breath when I go up the stairs. I am just going to be forever grateful for this surgery. I have lost a total of 65 pounds. I would say 45 of that from surgery and 20 from pre-op.
